Because of hard-to-spot and constantly moving shoals off-shore, Cape Cod’s coastline has been historically been called an “ocean graveyard”, and is estimated to contain the remains of over 3,000 shipwrecks - as a result the Cape is a great place to see historic and well maintained lighthouses in the true New England style.
